Our Story

When Adesola Adedewe boarded his flight from Nigeria to Rochester in 2017 to begin his undergraduate studies at RIT, algorithmic trading wasn’t yet on his radar. That changed as he immersed himself in electrical engineering classes and machine learning projects, sparking a passion for financial markets and building automated trading systems. By the time he earned his Master’s in Robotics and spent two years as a software engineer at Microsoft, Adesola had developed both the skills and vision to transform the trading landscape for retail investors.

Garret Brennan, our CFO, built a strong foundation and passion for financial markets while studying finance and economics at RIT. After graduating, he joined the sales and trading program at BMO, where he worked on a fixed income desk focusing on macro and fundamental research. His financial expertise and strategic insight have become the driving force behind shaping Epoch’s trading solutions.

Adesola and Garret are joined by co-founder Marcus D'Aguiar (CGO), a fellow RIT graduate, biomedical engineer and avid trader. The team recognized that while institutional traders had access to sophisticated trading algorithms, backtesting engines, and machine learning resources, retail traders were left at a disadvantage, often limited by their lack of programming knowledge and access to clean data. To address this imbalance, Epoch was created— a no-code, all-in-one trading platform designed to empower retail investors with the same advanced tools available to institutions.
